    A Novel Cooperation and Competition Strategy Among Multi-Agent Crawlers

    Multi-Agent theory which is used for communication and collaboration among focused crawlers has been proved that it can improve the precision of returned result significantly. In this paper, we proposed a new organizational structure of multi-agent for focused crawlers, in which the agents were divided into three categories, namely F-Agent (Facilitator-Agent), As-Agent (Assistance-Agent) and C-Agent (Crawler-Agent). They worked on their own responsibilities and cooperated mutually to complete a common task of web crawling. In our proposed architecture of focused crawlers based on multi-agent system, we emphasized discussing the collaborative process among multiple agents. To control the cooperation among agents, we proposed a negotiation protocol based on the contract net protocol and achieved the collaboration model of focused crawlers based on multi-agent by JADE. At last, the comparative experiment results showed that our focused crawlers had higher precision and efficiency than other crawlers using the algorithms with breadth-first, best-first, etc

    Seasonal fluxes and sources apportionment of dissolved inorganic nitrogen wet deposition at different land-use sites in the Three Gorges reservoir area.

    To identify seasonal fluxes and sources of dissolved inorganic nitrogen (DIN) wet deposition, concentrations and δ15N signatures of nitrate (NO3−) and ammonium (NH4+) in wet precipitation were measured at four typical land-use types in the Three Gorges reservoir (TGR) area of southwest China for a one-year period. Higher DIN fluxes were recorded in spring and summer and their total fluxes (averaged 7.58 kg N ha−1) were similar to the critical loads in aquatic ecosystems. Significant differences of precipitation δ15N were observed for NH4+-N between town and wetland sites in spring and between urban and rural sites in summer. For NO3−-N, significant differences of precipitation δ15N were observed between town and rural sites in spring and between urban and town sites in autumn, respectively. Quantitative results of NO3−-N sources showed that both biomass burning and coal combustion had higher fluxes at the urban site especially in winter (0.18 ± 0.09 and 0.19 ± 0.08 kg N ha−1), which were about three times higher than those at the town site. A similar finding was observed for soil emission and vehicle exhausts in winter. On the whole, DIN wet deposition averaged at 12.13 kg N ha−1 yr−1 with the urban site as the hotspot (17.50 kg N ha−1 yr−1) and regional NO3−-N fluxes had a seasonal pattern with minimum values in winter. The contribution to NO3−-N wet deposition from biomass burning was 26.1 ± 14.1%, which is the second dominant factor lower than coal combustion (26.5 ± 12.6%) in the TGR area during spring and summer. Hence N emission reduction from biomass burning, coal combustion and vehicle exhausts should be strengthened especially in spring and summer to effectively manage DIN pollution for the sustainable development in TGR area

    Reconstructing Cryogenian to Ediacaran successions and paleogeography of the South China Block

    This work was supported by the National Natural Science Foundation of China (Grant No. 41772106 and 41472086) and by the Australian Research Council (Grant FL160100168).Neoproterozoic paleogeography of the South China is dominated by the formation of Rodinia, its break-up, and the subsequent amalgamation of Gondwana. Two negative excursions of the chemical index of alteration (CIA) and the chemical index of weathering (CIW) recorded in the Cryogenian to Ediacaran sedimentary rocks of the Cathaysia Block, South China, indicate two cooling events. In combination with available age constraints, this data suggests correlation with the global Marinoan (ca. 650-635 Ma) and Gaskiers (ca. 579 Ma) glaciations. U-Pb ages of detrital zircons from the Cryogenian to lower Ediacaran strata define two distinctive age peaks at 1056 Ma and 998 Ma, whereas the upper Ediacaran strata show only one age peak at 957 Ma. These data demonstrate Neoproterozoic sedimentary rocks in the Cathaysia Block were derived from a source external to the craton. The predominant late Mesoproterozoic to early Neoproterozoic (1140-870 Ma) detrital zircons were most likely derived from a source dominated by North India and East Antarctica with limited input from Western Australia. Furthermore, εHf(t) values of detrital zircons are similar to the coeval detrital zircons from Rayner-Eastern Ghats. The detrital record of the late Cryogenian and Ediacaran strata in the Cathaysia Block suggests that the South China Block was connected to the northern margin of India during the dispersal of Rodinia and the assembly of East Gondwana. Detrital zircons from Cryogenian strata overlying the Jiangnan Orogen are largely in the range 900-700 Ma with scattered Archean and Paleoproterozoic grains. These ages are consistent with derivation from local sources within South China. The timing of accumulation of these units, after collisional assembly of South China, likely accounts for their more restricted provenance with collision generated relief providing both a local source and restricting input from further south within India and/or the rest of Gondwana.PostprintPeer reviewe

    IntroductionEvidence suggests that toxic iron is involved in haemophilic joint destruction.AimTo determine whether joint iron deposition is linked to clinical and imaging outcomes in order to optimize management of haemophilic joint disease.MethodsAdults with haemophilia A or haemophilia B (n = 23, ≥ age 21) of all severities were recruited prospectively to undergo assessment with Hemophilia Joint Health Scores (HJHS), pain scores (visual analogue scale [VAS]) and magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) at 3T using conventional MRI protocols and 4-echo 3D-UTE-Cones sequences for one affected arthropathic joint. MRI was scored blinded by two musculoskeletal radiologists using the International Prophylaxis Study Group (IPSG) MRI scale. Additionally, UTE-T2* values of cartilage were quantified. Correlations between parameters were performed using Spearman rank correlation. Two patients subsequently underwent knee arthroplasty, which permitted linking of histological findings (including Perl's reaction) with MRI results.ResultsMRI scores did not correlate with pain scores or HJHS. Sixteen joints had sufficient cartilage for UTE-T2* analysis. T2* values for cartilage correlated inversely with HJHS (rs  = -0.81, P < 0.001) and MRI scores (rs  = -0.52, P = 0.037). This was unexpected since UTE-T2* values decrease with better joint status in patients with osteoarthritis, suggesting that iron was present and responsible for the effects. Histological analysis of cartilage confirmed iron deposition within chondrocytes, associated with low UTE-T2* values.ConclusionsIron accumulation can occur in cartilage (not only in synovium) and shows a clear association with joint health. Cartilage iron is a novel biomarker which, if quantifiable with innovative joint-specific MRI T2* sequences, may guide treatment optimization

    Characterization of Zur-dependent genes and direct Zur targets in Yersinia pestis

    <p>Abstract</p> <p>Background</p> <p>The zinc uptake regulator Zur is a Zn<sup>2+</sup>-sensing metalloregulatory protein involved in the maintenance of bacterial zinc homeostasis. Up to now, regulation of zinc homeostasis by Zur is poorly understood in <it>Y. pestis</it>.</p> <p>Results</p> <p>We constructed a <it>zur </it>null mutant of <it>Y. pestis </it>biovar <it>microtus </it>strain 201. Microarray expression analysis disclosed a set of 154 Zur-dependent genes of <it>Y. pestis </it>upon exposure to zinc rich condition. Real-time reverse transcription (RT)-PCR was subsequently used to validate the microarray data. Based on the 154 Zur-dependent genes, predicted regulatory Zur motifs were used to screen for potential direct Zur targets including three putative operons <it>znuA, znuCB </it>and <it>ykgM</it>-<it>RpmJ2</it>. The LacZ reporter fusion analysis verified that Zur greatly repressed the promoter activity of the above three operons. The subsequent electrophoretic mobility shift assay (EMSA) demonstrated that a purified Zur protein was able to bind to the promoter regions of the above three operons. The DNase I footprinting was used to identify the Zur binding sites for the above three operons, verifying the Zur box sequence as predicted previously in γ-Proteobacteria. The primer extension assay was further used to determine the transcription start sites for the above three operons and to localize the -10 and -35 elements. Zur binding sites overlapped the -10 sequence of its target promoters, which was consistent with the previous observation that Zur binding would block the entry of the RNA polymerase to repress the transcription of its target genes.</p> <p>Conclusion</p> <p>Zur as a repressor directly controls the transcription of <it>znuA, znuCB </it>and <it>ykgM</it>-<it>RpmJ2 </it>in <it>Y. pestis </it>by employing a conserved mechanism of Zur-promoter DNA association as observed in γ-Proteobacteria. Zur contributes to zinc homeostasis in <it>Y. pestis </it>likely through transcriptional repression of the high-affinity zinc uptake system ZnuACB and two alternative ribosomal proteins YkgM and RpmJ2.</p

    Mapping Observations of Peptide-like molecules around Sagittarius B2

    Peptide-like molecule, which has a close connection with the origin of life, has been detected in universe. Mapping observations of HCONH2_2 and CH3_3CONH2_2, two simplest peptide-like molecules, are performed towards Sagittarius B2 (Sgr B2) complex with the IRAM 30m telescope. Seven transitions of HCONH2_2 and five transitions of CH3_3CONH2_2 are used in analysis. The spatial distribution of excitation temperature and column density of HCONH2_2 in the molecular envelope of Sgr B2 are obtained by the rotation diagrams. Assuming the same excitation temperature as HCONH2_2, the column densities of CH3_3CONH2_2 are also calculated. The results show that excitation temperature ranges from 6 K to 46 K in the molecular envelope of Sgr B2. The abundance ratio between HCONH2_2 and CH3_3CONH2_2 are calculated to explore the relationship among them, as well as HNCO mentioned in our pervious research. The abundance ratio of CH3_3CONH2_2/HCONH2_2 varies from 10% to 20%, while that of HCONH2_2/HNCO ranges from 1.5% to 10%. CH3_3CONH2_2 is enhanced with respect to HCONH2_2 in the northwest region of Sgr B2. One transition of H13^{13}CONH2_2 is detected toward 12 positions of Sgr B2, from which a 12^{12}C/13^{13}C ratio of 28.7 is obtained. A time-dependent chemical model with a short duration of X-ray burst is used to explain the observed abundances of HCONH2_2 and CH3_3CONH2_2, with the best fitting result at Tdust\rm_{dust} = 53-56 K. More chemical reactions are required to be included into the model since the modeled abundance is lower than the observed one at the observed Tdust\rm_{dust}
